Textbook and Technology Grant (TTG)

Ontario’s annual Textbook and Technology Grant (TTG) helps full-time community college and university students pay for textbooks and computer costs. Starting in the 2009-2010 academic year, only OSAP-eligible applicants will be considered for this grant assistance. The value is $150 per student.

The Textbook and Technology Grant is fully administered by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. Your grant cheque will come directly from the Ministry; it will not be reflected on your York student account.

Eligiblity Criteria

To be eligible for a Textbook and Technology Grant, you must be a full-time student, attending a minimum of 60 per cent of a full course load, or 40 per cent for a student with a permanent disability, and you must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person.

You can receive only one Textbook and Technology Grant per OSAP academic year.

Note that if you have been restricted from receiving further OSAP assistance, this may result in you being ineligible to receive the grant unless your eligibility for OSAP assistance is reinstated.

How to Apply

If you have submitted an OSAP application for 2009-2010 and qualify for OSAP assistance, you are automatically considered for this grant; you do not have to fill-out a separate application form, as your eligibility is based on the information provided on your OSAP application.

Application Deadlines

Your application must be received by the following deadlines for you to receive this grant:

  • One-term programs (12 to 20 weeks in duration) - your application must be submitted within the first 30 days of your study period.
  • Two- and three-term programs (21 to 52 weeks in duration) - your application must be submitted by 90 days before the end of your study period.
