This Week @ York for Week of December 12, 2023

Important Dates

  • Holiday Closure Information. York University will be closed from Friday, December 22, to Tuesday, January 2, and will re-open on Wednesday, January 3.

FYI

  • It's exam season – remember to get rest between studying, completing exams and final assignments. If you become sick or have special considerations to write your exam or submit final coursework at a later date, you can request a deferred standing. Visit the Student Health website for more well-being tips and resources.

  • Dressing for exams. When getting ready for your exams, make sure you dress for the weather! Bringing a comfy sweater can help you keep warm as you wrap up the fall term.

  • Official Examination Identification. While York continues to transition to mobile YU-cards, students with a digital version should bring alternate government-issued ID. The exam invigilator/instructor will guide you on the steps to take while having your mobile YU-card in test spaces.

  • Parking Fines increase. Parking fines on Keele and Glendon Campus parking lots have increased to $75 – this change applies city-wide. To learn more, visit the Parking Services website.

  • Update on search for vice-president equity, people and culture. Since April 1, 2023, Dr. Alice Pitt has held the title of interim vice-president equity, people and culture (VPEPC), and demonstrated leadership during a critical time for York, including the launch of the Decolonizing, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Strategy. As Dr. Pitt embarks on her new journey, Dr. Laina Bay-Cheng will take over the role on an interim basis from Monday, January 1 to Wednesday, December 31, 2024. The search for the new VPEPC will resume in the new year.
