Important Dates

  • National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. Attend   a memorial ceremony honouring the victims who tragically lost their lives at Polytechnique MontrĂ©al in 1989. Guests are invited to wear a white ribbon, which will be available at 301 York Lanes in the Centre for Sexual Violence Response, Support & Education. Keele, Glendon Campus and virtual event.   • 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. Engage in meaningful conversations, and understand more about the elimination of femicide, gender-based violence and the impact it has on our community. Attend community-organized events in virtual and in-person settings until Sunday, December 10. Registration required via email at thecentre@yorku.ca.

  • Holiday Closure Information. York’s campuses will be closed from Friday, December 22, to Tuesday, January 2, and will re-open on Wednesday, January 3.

  • Drop-in Refreshment Break. The Division of Students’ senior team would like to offer you a free warm drink and connect with you to wish you well on your upcoming exams. Keele Campus.   • Cash Prizes in University-Wide Creative Writing Competition. Enter the competition recognized by The Creative Writing Department, Faculty of LA&PS and The Office of the President for a chance to win a prize starting at $1,000. Submit your original and unpublished writing by Friday, January 5. Results will be announced in spring 2024.

  • Official Examination Identification. As York continues the transition to mobile YU-cards, students with a digital version should also bring alternate government-issued photo ID. The exam invigilator/instructor will give you guidance on the use of mobile YU-cards in test spaces.

  • Parking Fines increase. Parking fines on Keele and Glendon Campus parking lots have increased to $75. This modification applies throughout the City of Toronto. To learn more, visit the Parking Services website.

International Student Support
