Louis J. Brody, Q.C. Entrance Scholarship

Description
The Louis J. Brody Q.C. Entrance Scholarship Fund was established in 1996 in memory of Louis Brody (1904-1984), by his brother William Brody, C.A. These scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic excellence and financial need to Ontario students in the JD/MBA program who are entering their first year of study at Osgoode. Louis Brody, born and educated in Toronto, a graduate of the Osgoode Class of 1927, had a long and distinguished career as a commercial lawyer in Windsor, Ontario. During World War II, he enlisted in the Essex Scottish Regiment, serving with the Judge Advocate General's department in Italy, France, and England, rising from the rank of Private to the rank of Major. He died in 1984, a well-known and respected solicitor who took pride in his membership in the legal profession. Recipients must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons, residents of Ontario and demonstrate financial need.
