This tool lets you view awards, scholarships, prizes and bursaries offered at York University. Take a few moments to search for awards you may be eligible for: you can search by Faculty, award type, activity level or type in the name of an award that you may be familiar with. Unless otherwise stated, all full-time, part-time and mature students are eligible for all the awards in the system so long as they meet the published criteria.

Ontario Professional Engineers Foundation for Education Undergraduate Scholarships

The Ontario Professional Engineers Foundation for Education Undergraduate Scholarship will be awarded annually to two students in second, third, fourth or final year of an Engineering program at the Lassonde School of Engineering. To be considered, candidates must demonstrate at least one of the following: a. financial need; b. high engineering aptitude (i.e. natural engineering ability; not to be equated with a specific gpa); c. leadership through participation in professional affairs; d. sustained participation in extra-curricular activities either on or off campus; or e. continued volunteerism either on or off-campus. Applicants are strongly encouraged to enroll in the free student membership programs of Professional Engineers Ontario ( and the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers ( stud). As well,applicants are encouraged to subscribe to the website. By virtue of applying for these awards, selected recipients consent to their name being published by the donor. The recipient's combined scholarships for the academic year cannot be more than $10,000 from all sources including the Ontario Professional Engineers Foundation for Education Entrance Scholarships.
Application Process
To apply, please fill out the Student Financial Profile (SFP) at Please ensure to complete the community service and extra curricular activities sections and a provide a personal statement. Applicants must submit a letter outlining their leadership and community involvement to the Secretary, Awards Committee, 105 Bergeron Centre for Engineering Excellence, 11 Arboretum Lane.

  1. Bursaries are based on financial need. Therefore, students with financial need are encouraged to apply.
  2. Scholarships are based on academic merit. Therefore, students with high academic standing are encouraged to apply.
  3. Awards are based on both academic merit and financial need. Therefore, students with high academic standing and financial need are encouraged to apply.
